Coffee in all varieties is the most popular drink on the planet. The names for this roasted drink vary depending upon your location; however, those delicious red berries from the 'coffea arabica' plant have become a mainstay resource everywhere. There are a number of different varieties of coffea plants that all produce tiny red fruits with two beans inside. The plants take about six years to produce the cafe beans that make the aromatic broth that we enjoy drinking.

The c.arabica plants are grown on plantations where they can reach the height of 40 feet when trimming is not done to keep them at a reasonable height for harvesting. Each tree is allowed to produce caffe beans for about 10-years before a new arabica plant is encouraged to grow as a replacement. Ten to twenty untreated red arabica berries are placed into a hole and allowed to grow or die naturally until the strongest coffea arabica tree out of this grouping becomes the strong replacement for the old plant.

The German kaffee, Hawaiian kope, and Serbian kafa drinks are all produced from roasted coffea berries as are all other true java beverages globally. Different varieties of coffee trees are grown in global regions that have weather that gives the fruits 65F to 75F days. Various soils, fertilizers and temperature swings can influence the flavor of the unroasted beans. The different types of roasting processes produce unique regional beverage flavors. It is possible to get Vietnamese ca phe blends, the Taiwanese ka fei drinks and the Armenian surche varieties.

Over the years, coffee growers have tried many different types of preservation methods to keep the savory whole seeds or grounds fresh while they are distributed to countries that cannot grow their own kaffie supplies. There are natural oils present in the seeds or grounds that spoil very quickly under most situations. Freezing, moisture, warm temperatures and storage containers that are not airtight can all hasten the demise of our precious kofi supplies.

Today, air travel has helped to distribute the fresh, dry, ground, roasted and the blended hot caffeine products that we enjoy throughout each day. It is possible to procure the freshly picked red fruits in overnight mails for processing in home-based roasters. Our modern technologies have made it possible for all types of people to enjoy a large variety of different coffee seeds, beans, grounds, and blends whenever the mood hits for an invigorating cup of steaming koppi or Joe.
