If you are tired of paying for overpriced coffee at specialty cafes and restaurants each day, you should consider making your own cup at home. Doing this can save you a lot of money, and if you know how to make a good cup of java, you may even enjoy it more than the drinks you get at your local cafe.

In order to make a great cup of java, you will need the right beans and equipment. Fortunately, these items do not cost that much and they will start saving you money within a month if you drink java regularly.

Finding the right beans can be difficult, so you may need to do some taste testing prior to purchasing a bag. Find a good cafe that offers different types of blends for you to try, so you can figure out which blends and regions offer the best taste.

To get the most flavor from each cup, you should purchase a bag of whole beans and grind them right before you prepare your drinks. The type of grind that you use will also depend upon the drink. For espresso, use a fine grind, and when using a French press, use a coarse grind.

Do not pour boiling water on your grounds coffee . Instead, allow the water to settle and cool slightly. This will prevent you from scalding the grounds and creating a bitter taste. When using a French press, or presspot, be sure to cover the grounds evenly and stir them briefly before covering them with the presser.

To get the best flavor from your coffee , stop steeping the grounds when the appropriate amount of time has elapsed. You should also drink it as soon as possible. After a certain amount of time passes, the drink may start to lose its flavor or become bitter.
