It is fair to say that in recent years there has been a real explosion in coffee as the drink of choice for many. This is shown by the number of specialist cafes opening up all over the place and not just including major names such as Starbucks.
It used to be that the only choice you had was black or white however now you encounter menu boards with a whole array of types of drinks you can have with this one root ingredient. There are now even chilled varieties giving an entirely new dimension that people would have not thought possible even just a few years ago.
This means you can now have them as a latte, the cappuccino is now more common and less exotic than it was before and you can also have other flavorings added. People may end up with caramel, hazel or add some spice depending on their personal preference.
The image of it being used as a drink to wake you up in the morning has been shed and instead replaced by an image of it being trendy. This is why you are now more likely to see friends sitting having a chat whilst drinking one of the many choices and just having some chilling out time.
The price is actually quite stable although this does depend on where you go as clearly some places are more expensive than others. It has always been slightly more expensive than tea and this is still the case but obviously the fancier drinks do go up in price due to what is added.
So coffee and the drinking of it has changed dramatically over recent years making it far more fashionable than just being a caffeine hit. There is no doubt that this position is here to stay with more places opening up all the time to serve the public and their need for this particular drink.
